Professional Photographers from the PhotoSesh App cover the 2017 Crawfish for Cancer NYC Boil

The PhotoSesh Charity Campaign continues.  We had a blast with this special charity event photographing 1000+ people as they chowed down on some good ol' southern cookin. Rain or shine, these young "do-gooders" were in great spirits contributing to a great cause.  We had a portrait photographer, a fashion photographer, and added one more professional photographer to cover this awesome event.  Money raised was to benefit CFC's mission to help fund research in fighting Multiple Myeloma!  What a great organization!  Bravo to everyone involved!

PhotoSesh credit goes to some of our favorite PhotoSesh photogs Aline Velter, Julian Chokkattu, and Shavon Meyers!

About Crawfish for Cancer, Inc.

Started in 2008, Crawfish for Cancer (CFC Inc.) is dedicated to fundraising for multiple myeloma cancer research. By hosting events that cater to young professionals we are able to provide much needed funds in the fight against this currently incurable disease.

The passion for this cause is a result of the founder of CFC, Inc.’s father having had multiple myeloma. Lieutenant Colonel Lorenzo Mayo Crowell, USAF, Retired passed away as a result of multiple myeloma in March 2014.

Multiple Myeloma & the MMRF

Multiple myeloma is a cancer of your plasma cells, a type of white blood cell present in your bone marrow. Plasma cells normally make proteins called antibodies to help you fight infections. In multiple myeloma cancer, a group of abnormal plasma cells (myeloma cells) multiplies, raising the number of plasma cells to a higher than normal level. Since these cells normally make proteins, the level of abnormal proteins in your blood also may go up. Health problems caused by multiple myeloma can affect your bones, immune system, kidneys and red blood cell count

We at CFC, Inc. aren’t qualified to do cancer research; therefore we turn over the success of our efforts to those that are qualified.  Since 2009, our success has benefited the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, donating $400,000 to the MMRF as of 2016.

Kate Wohlrab and Lauren Amendola hosted an amazing charity event to support the CarePacks4Homeless initiative last night. Paint for a Purpose was a huge success. Proceeds north of $1200 along with CarePacks made will go a long way and bring many smiles to the individuals and families without a roof to call their own. Specifically through the David B Skinner shelter and Bowery Mission. Kate and Lauren whipped this up in less than 2 weeks with the help of donated space by the American Legion, discounted pricing by Craft Clique, efforts by Nolan Johnson , Mayor Mike Gonnelli and generous donations by Michael Gonnelli Bobby Dornan, Leah Farinola Alexis Trombetta Cossolini, Catharine Naszimento Craig Bronowich Joanna MarieJaime Torrejon Reggie Rosales Torrejon Jennifer Basilio Rotella Jenn Casper Licamara Eric Licamara Nicole Bonito Michael Wurst Anthony Napoli James King Rob Acerra Alicia Marie Lavelle Acerra , Zeke Wohlrab, Ashley MarieShawn Collins Shari Seshadri Christopher Seshadri, Tom McEnroe, Lacka Family, Trombetta Family, Wohlrab Family, Dornan Family, Lisa Vaccarella Papa, and others that still need to be added to this list. PhotoSesh was privileged to shoot this event courtesy of one of their top photographers. PhotoSesh credit goes to Sean Jamar. Kate and Lauren stepped up for a great cause and resemble an amazing example of community leadership. The conversations of charity and giving were flowing heavy Friday night with some great ideas. Can’t wait to see what the next event has in store and who leads the way! The CarePacks4 Homeless initiative was born right here in North Jersey and has reached a new level thanks to these 2 ladies!
